No. Every capsule is blister-packed and shelf-stable, so no refrigeration is needed, even when you travel.

What’s the difference between the Original and Professional Formula?
Both contain 13 probiotic strains plus prebiotics and postbiotics. The Original Formula is naturally fermented for 3 years. The Professional Formula is fermented for 5 years for a more concentrated blend.

Are they vegetarian and dairy-free?
Yes. Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics are vegetarian, non-dairy, gluten-free and non-GMO, with no artificial colors or preservatives.

Can I take them while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics are considered safe to take during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, but talk to your OB-GYN, midwife or doctor before starting any new supplement.

When is the best time to take them?
Neither morning nor bedtime has been proven to work better; consistency is far more important than the exact hour. Take 1 capsule twice a day on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 1.5 hours after a meal.
